Vilanova Park is our closest campsite to Barcelona and is the perfect base for combining city sightseeing with relaxation. Located on the golden coastline of the Costa Dorada this large campsite has plenty to keep the whole family entertained. At the heart of the site sits the pretty pool complex ? a great spot for either sunbathing or splashing around in the water. The site has two toddler pools so that little ones can play in safety. While there?s plenty to do onsite you won?t want to miss out on the great things in the surrounding area. As well as the fantastic city of Barcelona to explore, Tarragona is well worth a visit too. Camping la Siesta has a fabulous pool complex, while a delightful sandy beach is just a short walk away. Here you can discover plenty of coves where you should find a secluded spot. The facilities are well maintained, and offer something for everyone; the active will enjoy games of volleyball and tennis, while younger children will have hours of fun at the well equipped children's playground. The main draw however, is the fabulous pool complex. Here, there is ample space to relax on the spacious sun terrace, and two large pools for swimming. As evening falls, most holidaymakers migrate to the bars and restaurant, or head to nearby Calella where there is a wealth of bars and restaurants.

Camping Castell Montgri is a well maintained site with superb facilities, located at the base of Rocamura Mountain and arranged in a series of steep terraces up the hillside. There is no need to go far to enjoy a lively holiday; the site runs a first class animation programme and facilities to suit every need, including sports competitions, ice cream parlours and a nightly disco (soundproofed) for teenagers. The main attraction has to be the superb pool complexes, one with stunning views of the coastline and mountains and each with its own restaurant, bar and terrace. The pitches are near to the smaller pool complex in a quieter part of the site. Separated by small shrubs, they provide an excellent spot to relax in the evenings.

This park, one mile from Noja, enjoys a wonderful setting beside a long sandy beach. Surrounding the park is a beautiful nature reserve, abundant with wildlife. The Cantabrian coastline is a surfers' paradise and the facilities on this lively park are excellent. Older teenagers will enjoy the park's cellar disco, held every night in high season. The rooftop bar provides a relaxing venue for a drink before enjoying a meal in the modern restaurant. It features not one but two superb pool complexes, each with its own bar and sun terrace, waterslides and chutes. 'Panorama', the largest of the two, also serves as a focal point for the organised entertainment. The park offers an excellent range of activities for all ages, including a sound proofed, underground disco, where the over 16s can dance the night away. A large TV screen and a number of good bars and restaurants are also available for those seeking a quieter pace of life.

Camping Internacional de Calonge is set on a hillside overlooking the sweeping bay of Palamos. This is a well run and lively site, with modern facilities and beautiful beach on the doorstep. The pitches are located on terraces at the top of the site, separated by small shrubs and with some shade from the mature trees. In high season, young children will love the tractor train that takes you to the pitches from the bottom of the site. There is plenty going on to keep the whole family amused, with activities and evening entertainment most days in high season. The pool complex, with two full sized pools and a separate children's pool, is surrounded by an extensive terrace. Unwind with a cooling drink from the adjacent bar, and enjoy the superb views of the coast.

At La Torre del Sol, the living is easy, with a private beach and a stylish, strikingly designed cluster of buildings inspired by Roman and Moorish themes - offering cool restaurants shaded from the bright Spanish sunshine, as well as a cinema and theatre. As welcoming to children as adults, there is a very professional animation programme here, with lots of involvement from the park's own 'Parky' character. Guests can enjoy mini-golf, tennis, soccer, aerobics and excellent facilities all round. Cambrils Park is very attractive, with the pool complex very much a centrepiece. You'll not only find elephant water chutes and a dragon slide but there's also a new themed pool. There are shops, bars and a restaurant on park not to mention a fine beach with water sports less than 1km away.

Camping Cypsela is a deluxe rated campsite, considered to be one of Spain's finest. Set amidst a densely wooded area of the Costa Brava, the site has a private feel, with most of the pitches shaded from the sun by mature trees and hedges. There is plenty here to keep the whole family amused; the animation programme will be enjoyed by children of all ages, leaving you plenty of time to unwind either at your pitch or on the sunbathing terrace by the popular pool complex. Here, you will find a large pool and a separate children's pool, as well as a diving board and waterfall. The restaurant terrace overlooks the pools, and is the venue for the evening entertainment. If venturing off site, there is a free bus service to the nearby beach.

Camping Cypsela is not so much a park, more an entire holiday complex. Situated within a pine wooded area, the park is just over a mile from the beach of Playa de Pals. The large pool complex, with its waterfall, sun-terrace and open air bar, is like that of a luxury hotel. Teenagers can enjoy a wide range of sports, whilst the adventure play area and indoor children's activity centre will be popular with younger children. The park rules are fairly strictly enforced. Particularly suited to families with young children, this large but exclusive park is one of Spain's best. The pool complex is a real showpiece and there are all sorts of sports to enjoy, as well as a wide range of activities organised for children by the 'Cypsy Club'. Most of the many amenities are open throughout the season, including a restaurant and relaxing terrace bar, which overlooks one of the children's play-areas. There is also a weekly disco in low season, with bands and disco nights in peak season, which are always incredibly popular. A hands-on management style ensures immaculate washing facilities and an orderly park; however the park remains relaxed and friendly. Beyond the park itself are miles and miles of unspoilt countryside and a short drive takes you to the small town of Playa de Pals, where there is a long, sandy beach and small select cafes.
