Ciboure at Ciboure, Gascony
Sheltered in the calmer waters of the St Jean de Luz bay, the water sports and activities here are a degree or two more chilled out than at the larger resorts to the north. Ciboure offers all the exhilaration for those who like to take the air, or even take to the waters, in relative peace and tranquillity. On land the accent is on quiet enjoyment, Ciboure is calm compared to its busy fishing port neighbour of Saint Jean-de-Luz, but there is still plenty to keep you busy. You're not too far from the Spanish border, with the beautiful Pyrenees rising in the south.
Le Port de Limeuil at Limeuil, Dordogne
When you're seeking a really quiet and relaxing holiday, you'll find Le Port de Limeuil very much to your taste. Domaine de la Rive at Biscarosse, Gascony

The delightful bar and restaurant overlook a well equipped and spacious play area and the quaint town of Biscarosse with its bars, shops and nightlife only a short drive away. If you're bringing a boat, the small port will moor it for a small fee for the duration of your stay.
Saint Avit Loisirs at Le Bugue, Dordogne

Le Vieux Port at Messanges, Gascony
Situated right on the Atlantic coast, and awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, Le Vieux Port enjoys direct access to a long, sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, which shelves steeply into the lively waves. There's also a splendid adventure playground, tennis, table tennis, and all sorts of games and sports events during the busy summer months, when the atmosphere is extremely lively. Delightful Bordeaux and bustling Bayonne are also both within easy reach by car.
Domaine d'Oleron at Ile d'Oleron, Royan
Domaine d?Ol?ron is a peaceful, family-run campsite. Occupying a peaceful spot close to St Georges on the Ile d?Ol?ron, this makes an ideal destination for those looking for a relaxing holiday. The emplacements are located amidst woodland, with some shaded by tall trees. Le Val d'Ussel at Proissans, Dordogne
Le Val d?Ussel is an impressive natural parc situated in the heart of the Dordgone P?rigord countryside. The park has a superb heated swimming complex that includes a family swimming pool, waterfalls, a toddler pool as well as plenty of room for everyone to relax poolside. Other facilities at Le Val d'Ussel include a multi-sports pitch (for basketball, handball, volleyball and more), a restaurant, bar and small shop. Les Grottes de Roffy is a family favourite. It has three pools in an excellent complex which is the park's centrepiece and the facilities here are good all round, with tennis as well as a children's play area. There is also a charming and reasonably priced restaurant which is so good it's even enjoyed by the locals, despite the presence of many first rate alternatives nearby. Pitches here are on a series of terraces, some with views over the idyllic countryside that surrounds the park and the rural setting also offers many delightful walks amongst the patchwork woods and fields.
La Cote d'Argent at Hourtin Plage, Royan
Cote d'Argent is a fantastic?family?choice thanks to its excellent facilities and good access to many other sights and attractions nearby. Here, you're just 300m from a lovely sandy beach where you can hire surfboards and take advantage of the huge Atlantic rollers. You're also just a ten minute drive away from France's largest fresh water lake where more water sports are available, and slightly further afield are famous vineyards including Pessac and Medoc - perfect for wine lovers. On parc the superb facilities include bicycle hire, horse riding and a new waterpark?opened in 2013. There's also organised entertainment, plus popular bar, restaurant and take-away, while just a few minutes away?at Hourtin Plage there are plenty more bars and restaurants to sample.

The active can hire a bicycle or put on their boots to explore the many walking and cycling routes.
Soleil Plage at Vitrac, Dordogne
Soleil Plage enjoys a superb setting that is perfect for a family holiday, lying on the banks of the gently flowing Dordogne. It has two small beaches, both situated on one of the loveliest stretches of the river, which are favourite spots for both swimming and canoeing. This well maintained park is set in rolling hills in unspoilt countryside this is a highly rated park by visitors. The shop, bar and restaurant are converted form lovely old farm buildings. The pretty bar terrace overlooks the swimming pool area, waterslides, tennis court, and spacious play area. Much of the accommodation can be found on pitches shaded by mature oak trees.
