Yelloh Village le Littoral at Les Sables-d'Olonne, Vendee
The campsite is situated next to a grassy headland with rock pools and coastal paths to explore. The facilities on site are superb and include a fantastic pool complex, which offers an outdoor pool with a large sun terrace, waterslides and jacuzzi, as well as a heated indoor pool. In high season families can enjoy a good programme of lively entertainment in the campsite bar or take one of the excursions to local attractions, such as the picturesque port of Pornic and the island nature reserve of Ile de Re. Please note that some noise from a nearby road may be heard from some of the pitches.
Camping la Grenouillere at Blois, Loire Valley
Camping la Grenouillere is set in countryside close to the banks of the Loire, this Castels site has a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for a quiet holiday. The large pitches are positioned in both wooded and open areas. At the centre of the site is a rustic chateau surrounded by a moat, which houses a cosy bar and restaurant with a patio area overlooking the pool. The tropical pool complex offers three pools, bridges, slides and water chutes. Theres also a covered pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna. The sporting activities here are excellent. The energetic can enjoy floodlit tennis, volleyball, archery and football, while the more sedate can spend an afternoon fishing at the chateau moat.
La Sirene at Argeles-sur-Mer, Languedoc
La Sirene is located just north of Argeles-sur-Mer which is famed for its five mile stretch of golden sand. This is a large family park that has lots of activities to keep the whole family busy including a large tropical pool complex. Scuba diving lessons are available in the pool, windsurfing, tennis, mini golf and even a free bus service to the beach. As you would expect most evenings are often spent in the open air bar, which is also the venue for regular late night cabaret and karaoke throughout the season. While beyond the park, you will enjoy the spectacular Pyrenees that form the dramatic backdrop to the spacious, sandy beaches and the park itself.
La Palombiere at Sarlat, Dordogne
This well maintained park is set in rolling hills in unspoilt countryside this is a highly rated park by visitors. The shop, bar and restaurant are converted form lovely old farm buildings. The pretty bar terrace overlooks the swimming pool area, waterslides, tennis court, and spacious play area. Much of the accommodation can be found on pitches shaded by mature oak trees.
Chateau de l'Eperviere at Gigny-sur-Saone, Burgundy
Chateau de l'Eperviere is an attractive site, situated in mature woodland in the heart of France's Burgundy region. This is a quiet haven where the generous emplacements are set amongst ancient oaks, providing plenty of space for the children to explore. Cool off with a refreshing swim in the two pools, one of which is covered, or the ultimate way to de-stress is taking a relaxing jacuzzi or sauna. There is a delightful restaurant housed in the 16th century chateau and the cosy bar hosts regular wine tasting sessions. This is an excellent area for walkers and cyclists to go exploring.

Delightful Bordeaux and bustling Bayonne are also both within easy reach by car.
La Bien Assise at Guines, Picardy
Although it is a popular stopover on the way further South, La Bien Assise still has much to offer for a longer stay. Set in the parklands of graceful chateau, it makes a delightful setting for the spacious pitches of this small 'Castels' park. The park has excellent facilities that include a pleasant restaurant and a covered pool, with a waterslide for the children. This relatively undiscovered area offers you the best of both worlds too, a rural setting for getting away from it all, and a coastline that teems with sandy beaches and bustling resorts. The park also organises walks in the surrounding woods and water sports enthusiasts will love nearby Lac d'Ardres.
La Garangeoire at St Julien des Landes, Vendee
La Garangeoire is without a doubt one of the most prestigious members of the Castels chain. It offers you a breathtakingly beautiful setting amongst woods, meadows and lakes, yet still manages to be just a 15 minute drive from the superb Vendee beaches. The estate contains generous, mainly un-shaded pitches and you are welcome to explore a number of delightful well marked walks. There's just so much to do here, from tennis, which is free in early and late summer, to fishing and boating on the lake. Why not enjoy an evening in the modern restaurant and bar overlooking the superb pool, or a quiet drink in the cosy pub style bar which is located in the tastefully converted outbuildings of the chateau.
Green Park at Cagnes-Green, Riviera
Green Park is situatied in the heart of a valley, surrounded by hills but is just few minutes from this popular French coastline. Green Park has a heated lagoon swimming pool, with a terrace that offers great views of the Riviera countryside. Other park facilities include a bar, restaurant, snack bar and shop. St. Alban is a lightly shaded park that enjoys a stunning setting and offers plenty to do for even the most active of families. There are two inviting swimming pools and a children's pool, with a covered pool complex, as well as tennis and mini-golf, plus activities like archery and horse riding in high season. Canoeing on the lovely River Chassezac close by is an added bonus. And at the end of the day, you can also relax over a drink in the pleasant bar. The park becomes lively in high season too, with a full programme of entertainment that includes cabarets and a disco. Out and about, you will find Barjac and Balazuc well worth a visit.
Le Paradis at St Leon, Dordogne
Le Paradis, it is set amidst France's loveliest countryside, close to the meandering rivers of the Dordogne. The park has superb facilities that includes two large swimming pools, surrounded by attractive trees, flowering shrubs and tennis courts. Les Sablons is a pleasant, good quality park with an excellent range of facilities that include a friendly bar and restaurant, as well as a pool complex with swimming and children's pools, and great waterslides. Most amenities are open in early season, but the park only becomes really lively during high season, when discos are held both indoors and out in the warm night air. Yet it's the splendid beach that you're sure to love most. With direct access from the park, its huge expanse of gently-shelving sand is a splendid place to relax. But if you can bear to tear yourselves away, you will find delightful resorts such as Cap d'Agde and Valras-Plage, which are both within easy reach.

Le Moulin de Paulhiac at Daglan, Dordogne
The facilities at this park are very modern, including a fabulous pool complex with three slides, covered pool, impeccable wash blocks and an excellent take-away and restaurant. Le Moulin de Paulhiac has a beautifully restored watermill that welcomes you at the entrance and is a rural park with large grassy pitches set amidst the dappled shade of walnut, oak and apple trees. The owners also organise activities in high season, which include popular canoe trips. This is the real heart of the Dordogne too, with rolling wooded hillsides, sleepy, honey-coloured villages, crumbling old farmhouses and castles galore to discover.
