Domaine de Massereau at Sommieres, Languedoc
Part of the prestigious Castels chain, the park owners have created a unique theme, based around the stunning wine producing chateau. Guests are able to take guided tours around the chateau and vineyard and purchase a wide variety of wine that the estate produces every year. The pitches are located amongst tranquil and picturesque oak trees and the facilities including a heated swimming pool and park restaurant, will appeal to families with young children. There is also an indoor spa, jacuzzi and sauna, and in May, June and September, you will get a free 45 minute session when you spend more than 3 nights on park (small charge otherwise). Off park try trekking at the Camargue National Park or take a ride along the 25 miles of purpose built cycle track which runs from Sommieres through the park itself.

L'Etang de la Breche at Saumur, Loire Valley

The site is extremely well maintained by the owners, including an impressive pool complex with waterslides and a separate pool for youngsters and a superb play area. The park has an attractive bar and restaurant. Situated in the Loire, the location is ideal for exploring the many outstanding chateaux.
Holiday Marina at Port Grimaud, Cote d'Azur
Holiday Marina is a small, modern campsite just 900m from the beach and set on the banks of the River Giscle. The campsite is set in a wonderful location within walking distance of picturesque Port Grimaud. The site has a spacious swimming pool with a separate pool for children, plus a jacuzzi. There is also a fantastic bar terrace which overlooks the pool and marina. Children will love the large play area while teenagers will never get bored with the sporting activities including football, basketball and archery. In the evening relax in the restaurant and sample some regional specialities or enjoy the entertainment in the lively bar.

Club Farret is a part of the Yelloh Village chain of campsites. A family run park, it offers everything that you would wish for in a sun and sand holiday, with plenty to do for the whole family. Set close to a long stretch of golden sandy beach this is a lively site with some great facilities. A lagoon style pool complex is a real suntrap, surrounded as it is by palms and shrubs. Children are well catered for with their own separate pool and seven playgrounds. For older children and adults there are also a wide range of sports activities ranging from table tennis to archery. Le Farret benefits from direct access to a wonderful sandy Mediterranean beach and the site's excellent restaurant and pirate-themed bar facilities have more than enough to entertain you for the duration of your stay, however if you can tear yourself away from the park a short 500m walk will take you directly into Vias Plage with its lively bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
Domaine de la Rive at Biscarosse, Gascony
This park is nestled amongst acres of the famous Landaise Forests. Apart from boasting one of the best lakeside beaches in the South West and being awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, the owner has created a superb water park, which is being expanded to include a wave pool, jacuzzi, spa and massage water beds, all under a retractable dome roof. If you can tear yourself away from this, then you can indulge in a spot of tennis, archery or petanque. The delightful bar and restaurant overlook a well equipped and spacious play area and the quaint town of Biscarosse with its bars, shops and nightlife only a short drive away.

If you are planning to visit Disneyland Paris or the many delights of Paris itself, the Paris Est campsite provides the perfect holiday base. Disneyland Paris is just 30 minutes from the park which means that you can not enjoy the park over more than 1 day if preferred (well worth it as it saves your feet!). The same can be said of exploring Paris to, which is just 10km from the campsite.The park itself is situated in 20 acres of wooded parkland, so a peaceful retreat after a hard days exploring. The amenities on the park are relatively simple including a basic shop. Also close by is the Tremblay Leisure Park, which has lots of sporting facilities on offer.
Le Ranc Davaine at St Alban, Ardeche
St. Alban is a lightly shaded park that enjoys a stunning setting and offers plenty to do for even the most active of families. There are two inviting swimming pools and a children's pool, with a covered pool complex, as well as tennis and mini-golf, plus activities like archery and horse riding in high season. Canoeing on the lovely River Chassezac close by is an added bonus. And at the end of the day, you can also relax over a drink in the pleasant bar. The park becomes lively in high season too, with a full programme of entertainment that includes cabarets and a disco. Out and about, you will find Barjac and Balazuc well worth a visit.
Airotel Pyrenees at Luz St Sauveur, Alps
Airotel Pyrenees is set at the heart of some spectacular mountain scenery on the edge of the National Park, at the foot of some of the most spectacular Pyrenean passes. There are four swimming pools here including one small outdoor with a slide, and a small indoor pool with sauna. This site has been awarded a prestigious 4 red tents rating by Michelin. The terraced site has an unrivalled setting, high in the hills, with views towards the cliff-top village of Cantobre. The pitches are generally spacious with some offering fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The facilities are housed in a beautifully converted mill and include a lovely oak beamed restaurant. The campsites excellent activity programme is extensive, with canyoning, rock-climbing, abseiling and horse riding. The area is excellent for mountain biking and there are organised river treks and walks which the whole family will enjoy.
Holiday Green at Frejus, Cote d'Azur
The huge Californian pool complex is great fun for all the family and includes a children's pool with water games, and a covered heated pool, toboggans, solarium and jacuzzi. Throughout the season there are aqua aerobics, water polo and water volleyball tournament and in July and August swimming lessons, fun waterskiing and even deep-sea diving instruction. The park has a restaurant, bar, supermarket, fitness room, tennis court, boules pitch, archery and mountain biking. There is also free evening entertainment and themed restaurant nights. Due to the undulating nature of the terrain on this park and the placement of some of the pitches on quite steep terraces, this park is not ideal for those with mobility problems.
International at Paris, Paris
Based in the north west of Paris, Camping International is close to a local train station, just a twenty minute journey to the city centre and a direct journey to Disneyland Resort Paris. What's more Versailles is only 20 minutes away by car. This site is all about its location and as a result the facilities are quite basic but do include a shop and bar. The local town of Maisons Laffitte is walking distance and there you will find some good restaurants, a supermarket and local shops. Barges and trains can be heard on-site.
Les Ranchisses at Largentiere, Ardeche
With an abundance of activities such as canoeing, walking, archery and a full children's entertainment programme, Les Ranchisses has something for every one. If relaxation is in order, the new heated outdoor pools have plenty of loungers or why not indulge in a massage in the new wellness centre which also features a fitness room. Please be aware that due to the landscape, a lot of pitches are located on steep terraces.
Les Chateau des Marais at Chambord, Loire Valley

The park has excellent facilities including a great pool complex with waterslides, a lazy river, a covered pool and a spacious sun terrace. Some noise may be heard from the nearby road. The site is a five minute walk from the village of Muides-sur-Loire.
Esterel at St Raphael, Cote d'Azur
Esterel is set on a hillside and is a first rate park. With ochre buildings it blends into the scenery so well that when you first set eyes on the glorious swimming pools, they create a quite startling contrast. Esterel really is a perfect family holiday location, with an excellent restaurant and disco on the park and a night club and golf courses close by. The Esterel hills are truly breathtaking and the area is ideal place for nature lovers, with many superb walks, from gentle strolls to robust hikes. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the tennis and volleyball courts. In high season there are discos for the whole family. The beach and town at Agay are only 4km away.
Bois de Valmarie at Argeles-sur-Mer, Languedoc
Bois de Valmarie is a popular park. Set on a hillside close to the beach of Le Racou, and a short walk from lively Argeles with many restaurants and bars. The great tropical pool complex has a stunning array of waterslides and water chutes linked by waterfalls and a childrens pool. The watermark has fantastic views of the Bay of Argeles. The restaurant and bar on this small site are the ideal location for relaxing at the end of the day. There's a shingle beach close by as well as water sports at nearby Argeles Plage. Situated between the lovely Argeles harbour and the`Cote Rocheuse', Bois de Valmarie not only enjoys breathtaking views, but is also just a five minute drive from the restaurants and shops of Argeles. Why not visit picturesque Collioure, and Perpignan, or perhaps even cross the border into Spain.
Le Vieux Port at Messanges, Gascony
On the Atlantic coast, Le Vieux Port is close to a magnificent long, sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, which shelves steeply into the lively waves. The park is located in a beautiful pine forest and has some great facilities including a great pool complex with seven pools and excellent waterslides. Out of the pool there is also a lot to do with a fun adventure playground, tennis, table tennis, and all sorts of games and sports events during the busy summer months. The park has it's own grill restaurant and during the summer there is also a weekly barbecue with an occasional disco held in high season. Delightful Bordeaux and bustling Bayonne are also both within easy reach by car and the lakeside resort of Port d'Albret is a short walk away and Messanges is 3 km away.

The spacious emplacements are surrounded by mature trees and hedges, which offer some shade and privacy.
