Holiday Green at Frejus, Cote d'Azur
Holiday Green is a well maintained site with a large Californian pool complex which is great fun for all the family and includes a children's pool with water games. It also has a new covered heated pool, toboggans, solarium and Jacuzzi. To keep the kids happy, a whole range of activities are held throughout the season and there are aqua aerobics, water polo and water volleyball tournament and in July and August swimming lessons, fun water-skiing and even deep-sea diving instruction. The park has a restaurant, bar, supermarket, fitness room, tennis court, boules pitch, archery and mountain biking. There is also free evening entertainment and themed restaurant nights. Due to the undulating nature of the terrain on this park and the placement of some of the pitches on quite steep terraces, this park is not ideal for elderly customers or those with mobility problems.
Chateau lez Eaux at St Pair-sur-Mer, Normandy
This pretty campsite is close to the main route on the Cherbourg peninsula making it ideal for stopovers or the whole holiday. A quiet, friendly Castels park it's a great place to simply relax while you soak up the atmosphere and enjoy its beautiful setting in the grounds of the manor house. There are some well maintained facilities, which include a remodelled covered swimming complex with slides and a water chute. There is also a sandy beach close to the village of St Pair-sur Mer which is just over 2 miles away. There is also fishing on the little lake, free of charge. Ideal for young families, the friendly owners work extremely hard to make your stay here enjoyable.
Bordaberry at Urugne, Gascony

Le Vieux Port at Messanges, Gascony
On the Atlantic coast, Le Vieux Port is close to a magnificent long, sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, which shelves steeply into the lively waves. The park is located in a beautiful pine forest and has some great facilities including a great pool complex with seven pools and excellent waterslides. Out of the pool there is also a lot to do with a fun adventure playground, tennis, table tennis, and all sorts of games and sports events during the busy summer months. The park has it's own grill restaurant and during the summer there is also a weekly barbecue with an occasional disco held in high season. Delightful Bordeaux and bustling Bayonne are also both within easy reach by car and the lakeside resort of Port d'Albret is a short walk away and Messanges is 3 km away.

If you are planning to visit Disneyland Paris or the many delights of Paris itself, the Paris Est campsite provides the perfect holiday base. Disneyland Paris is just 30 minutes from the park which means that you can not enjoy the park over more than 1 day if preferred (well worth it as it saves your feet!). The same can be said of exploring Paris to, which is just 10km from the campsite.The park itself is situated in 20 acres of wooded parkland, so a peaceful retreat after a hard days exploring. The amenities on the park are relatively simple including a basic shop. Also close by is the Tremblay Leisure Park, which has lots of sporting facilities on offer.
La Chapelle at Argeles Plage, Languedoc
With a long sandy beach just 200m walk from the park and a large selection of cafes, restaurants and bars only 50m away in the bustling resort of Argeles, Camping La Chapelle is a relaxing holiday destination. Chateau d'Olonne at Les Sables d'Olonne, Vendee
There is much to see here the Ile de Penotte, a picturesque old quarter in the town centre with pedestrian alleys and facades decorated with shells by a local artist, not to mention the La Chaume quarter, where the city originated, the fishermen's district, with the Place Sainte Anne and its magnificent trompe l'il fresco. And don't miss the delicious food market or fishing port where you can find fish at its freshest. The historical theme park, Le Grand Parc du Puy du Fou is also just 92km away. Located in the Vendee, a region famous for its long sandy beaches, close to Les Sables d'Olonne, Residence L'Estran is a hotel and residence located between the Puits d'Enfer, a deep cleft in the cliff into which the sea comes crashing at high tide, and the town centre. The swimming pool faces the sea and the sandy beaches are just 2km away. There are many activities available locally too such as golf and water sports. There is something for everyone.
Esterel at St Raphael, Cote d'Azur
This first rate, steeply terraced park with its ochre buildings blends into the scenery so well that when you first set eyes on the glorious swimming pools, they create a quite startling contrast. The heated, jungle themed children's pool is not to be missed. Esterel really is a perfect holiday location, with an excellent restaurant and disco on the park and a night club and golf courses close by. The Esterel hills, with their wooded slopes and pink outcrops, are also truly breathtaking. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers, with many superb walks, from gentle strolls to robust hikes. For more sophisticated pleasures, you are also just a couple of miles drive through a wooded valley to Agay, with its pavement cafes and sandy beach.

Les Alicourts Resort is a Michelin awarded '4 red tent' site, set beside a glorious lake, deep within rural countryside. The pitches are generally spacious and grassy with some shaded by mature oak trees. The pool complex and luxurious spa centre are the main attractions. Camping les Deux Fontaines at Raguenes, Brittany
Tranquil surroundings and temperate conditions, combined with exciting play areas make this site a favourite for lively young children. The bar and broad sun terrace overlook the excellent pool complex, including a lagoon-style pool, paddling pool with a fun octopus fountain for toddlers, plus a spiralling water chute, four lane waterslide and a brand new indoor pool for 2010. The park owners organise sports events, treasure hunts, barbecues and lively calvados tasting evenings in high season, most of the daytime activity is on the beach.
Soleil Plage at Vitrac, Dordogne
Soleil Plage enjoys a superb setting that is perfect for a family holiday, lying on the banks of the gently flowing Dordogne. It has two small beaches, both situated on one of the loveliest stretches of the river, which are favourite spots for both swimming and canoeing. The park itself offers you an excellent heated pool complex, with waterslides for the children and a Jacuzzi for you to laze in. And at the end of the day, you'll find that the excellent restaurant, which is just one of the amenities housed in converted Parigordin farm buildings, makes for a wonderful evening. You are also perfectly situated for visiting the famous sights here. Sarlat is only a short drive from the park and the beautiful riverside towns of La Roque-Gageac and Beynac are both accessible by road or river.
L'Ardechois at Vallon Pont D'Arc, Ardeche
L'Ardechois is a superbly well equipped park situated alongside one of the loveliest stretches of the Ardeche River. This makes it a perfect spot for swimming and canoeing, not to mention the excursions through the magnificent gorges that are such a popular part of the park's activities. Within the park itself, the impressive range of facilities include an attractive pool complex and a poolside bar. To keep the whole family amused, the park entertainment organise sports and fun from mid June, including weekly discos which are held in the open air or the bar. You are also just a short walk from Vallon Pont d'Arc, which is something of a focal point for tourists in this fascinating region.
Le Clarys Plage at St Jean Plage, Vendee
In a very popular family area, this excellent park is regarded as one of the best in the Vendee. It is located close to the beach, just a ten minute walk, and five miles south of the busy town of St Jean-de-Monts (which also has some great beaches). The focal point of this modern park is the swimming complex that has outdoor and indoor pools, heated pools, jacuzzi and slides/chutes. There is also an excellent children's play area, which along with the many activities makes this a popular family resort. The park runs entertainment throughout the season and there are many local restaurants close by.
Club Farret at Vias Plage, Languedoc
Club Farret is a part of the Yelloh Village chain of campsites. A family run park, it offers everything that you would wish for in a sun and sand holiday, with plenty to do for the whole family. Set close to a long stretch of golden sandy beach this is a lively site with some great facilities. A lagoon style pool complex is a real suntrap, surrounded as it is by palms and shrubs. Children are well catered for with their own separate pool and seven playgrounds. For older children and adults there are also a wide range of sports activities ranging from table tennis to archery. Le Farret benefits from direct access to a wonderful sandy Mediterranean beach and the site's excellent restaurant and pirate-themed bar facilities have more than enough to entertain you for the duration of your stay, however if you can tear yourself away from the park a short 500m walk will take you directly into Vias Plage with its lively bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
Yelloh Village la Foret at St Julien, Vendee
Yelloh! Village la For?t, tucked away from the bustle of Les Sables d?Olonne amidst rolling meadowland, is a small site set in the grounds of a ch?teau. The campsite facilities are set in converted buildings in the courtyard ? the bar is housed in the old stables, while the restaurant with open fire and oak-beamed ceiling is in an ivy-clad outhouse. Head through the stone archway into the ch?teau gardens and to the two covered pools beyond. Here you?ll find plenty of space to relax, plus a fun water slide for the children. There is also a football pitch, badminton court and playground. Keen fishermen can unwind in peace at one of the three lakes, settling down for a spot of carp and roach fishing in idyllic surroundings.
