Camping Val de Cantobre at Cevennes, Ardeche
This site has been awarded a prestigious 4 red tents rating by Michelin. The terraced site has an unrivalled setting, high in the hills, with views towards the cliff-top village of Cantobre. The pitches are generally spacious with some offering fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The facilities are housed in a beautifully converted mill and include a lovely oak beamed restaurant. The campsites excellent activity programme is extensive, with canyoning, rock-climbing, abseiling and horse riding. The area is excellent for mountain biking and there are organised river treks and walks which the whole family will enjoy.
Domaine de la Rive at Biscarosse, Gascony
This park is nestled amongst acres of the famous Landaise Forests. Apart from boasting one of the best lakeside beaches in the South West and being awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, the owner has created a superb water park, which is being expanded to include a wave pool, jacuzzi, spa and massage water beds, all under a retractable dome roof. If you can tear yourself away from this, then you can indulge in a spot of tennis, archery or petanque. The delightful bar and restaurant overlook a well equipped and spacious play area and the quaint town of Biscarosse with its bars, shops and nightlife only a short drive away.
Le Littoral at Sables d'Olonne, Vendee
Le Littoral is just a mile from the nearest beach with gently sloping sands. The park has a popular outdoor and covered pool. The park bar is the centre for daily entertainment in high season. The site is a short path walk from a rocky cove where children are able to spend hours searching for shell fish. In high season you can take the free bus service which runs all day long between the campsite, the beach and the famous resort of Les Sables d'Olonne.

Bois de Valmarie at Argeles-sur-Mer, Languedoc
Bois de Valmarie is a popular park. Set on a hillside close to the beach of Le Racou, and a short walk from lively Argeles with many restaurants and bars. The great tropical pool complex has a stunning array of waterslides and water chutes linked by waterfalls and a childrens pool. The watermark has fantastic views of the Bay of Argeles. The restaurant and bar on this small site are the ideal location for relaxing at the end of the day. There's a shingle beach close by as well as water sports at nearby Argeles Plage. Situated between the lovely Argeles harbour and the`Cote Rocheuse', Bois de Valmarie not only enjoys breathtaking views, but is also just a five minute drive from the restaurants and shops of Argeles. Why not visit picturesque Collioure, and Perpignan, or perhaps even cross the border into Spain.
Le Val de Bonnal at Rougemont, Jura
Perfectly located in beautiful countryside, the jewels in Le Val de Bonnal's crown are undoubtedly its natural lakes, one of which has its own beach. Should you tire of swimming in the lakes, you will find that the park offers a fantastic pool complex, complete with water slides. Yelloh Village le Littoral at Les Sables-d'Olonne, Vendee
The campsite is situated next to a grassy headland with rock pools and coastal paths to explore. The facilities on site are superb and include a fantastic pool complex, which offers an outdoor pool with a large sun terrace, waterslides and jacuzzi, as well as a heated indoor pool. In high season families can enjoy a good programme of lively entertainment in the campsite bar or take one of the excursions to local attractions, such as the picturesque port of Pornic and the island nature reserve of Ile de Re. Please note that some noise from a nearby road may be heard from some of the pitches.
Esterel at St Raphael, Cote d'Azur
This first rate, steeply terraced park with its ochre buildings blends into the scenery so well that when you first set eyes on the glorious swimming pools, they create a quite startling contrast. The heated, jungle themed children's pool is not to be missed. Esterel really is a perfect holiday location, with an excellent restaurant and disco on the park and a night club and golf courses close by. The Esterel hills, with their wooded slopes and pink outcrops, are also truly breathtaking. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers, with many superb walks, from gentle strolls to robust hikes. For more sophisticated pleasures, you are also just a couple of miles drive through a wooded valley to Agay, with its pavement cafes and sandy beach.
La Yole at St Jean Plage, Vendee
La Yole is one of the most popular sites in the region. It is located just two miles from the beach of Les Mouettes in a restful setting and family atmosphere. La Baume at Frejus, Cote d'Azur

You'd think that the magnificent pool complex with its four lane waterslide would be the unrivalled centrepiece of this lively park. However, in addition there is a completely separate and beautifully designed lagoon pool with its own slides. And there is also a covered pool on two levels, with slides, jacuzzi and steam room. The park's first class facilities also include two bars, restaurant and tennis courts, play area, take-away and fitness room. There are also plenty of lovely beaches nearby and come the evening you can choose between live entertainment or dancing the night away in the park's own disco. Please note that road noise can sometimes be heard on site.
Camping du Golf at Barneville-Carteret, Normandy
Just 23 miles from Cherbourg, Camping du Golf is a small and friendly parc in the Normandy region. This site is perfect for an active family holiday and with a covered, heated swimming pool surrounded by loungers you won't need to worry about the weather. A well-kept park, L'Oceano is well situated in unspoilt countryside. There is plenty of family entertainment and live music in high season in the parks special amphitheatre. The owners have kept to the traditional Vendeen style with the park buildings have been built in traditional style. The spacious bar has a relaxed atmosphere. The grassy pitches are bordered with low hedgerows or small trees providing some privacy. The swimming pool complex has a water chute and waterslides, surrounded by spacious sun terraces.
Sol a Gogo at St Hilaire, Vendee
The superb pool complex has a roman ruins theme and features exciting waterslides, as well as a covered pool and jacuzzi. In fact the pool area is ideal for everyone, whether you want a dip, a refreshing drink on the bar terrace alongside, or just the chance to relax in the endless sunshine. In high summer the park entertainers organise a range of family activities including regular discos in the bar. And then, of course, there's the wonderful beach which is reached by a private path from the park. There are also many fine day trips to choose from, with lively resorts such as St Hilaire and St Jean de Monts both just a few kilometres away.
Chateau de Drancourt at St Valery, Picardy
Ideally placed for the Channel ports, this 'Castels' park enjoys a picturesque location in the gardens of Chateau de Drancourt, with many facilities that make it ideal for a great family holiday. Children will love the play areas and the three pools, one of which is covered, while the golf range is popular with absolutely everyone. There are also some beautifully converted stables, which provide a focal point for many other activities. The owners have created a great family atmosphere too, which you can sample at the cosy restaurant, in the bar of the main Chateau, or at the lively karaoke nights held in high summer. The local area offers a wealth of day trips too, with the medieval port of St. Valery just a few kilometres away.
Le Ranc Davaine at St Alban, Ardeche
At St. Alban there are two inviting swimming pools and a children's pool, with a covered pool complex, as well as tennis and mini-golf, plus activities like archery and horse riding in high season. Canoeing on the lovely River Chassezac close by is an added bonus. And at the end of the day, you can also relax over a drink in the pleasant bar. St. Alban is a lightly shaded park that enjoys a stunning setting and offers plenty to do for even the most active of families. The park becomes lively in high season too, with a full programme of entertainment that includes cabarets and a disco. Out and about, you will find Barjac and Balazuc well worth a visit.
Camping le Clarys Plage at St Jean-Plage, Vendee
Located at the entrance to Camping le Clarys Plage are the feature waterslides and jacuzzi, fountains and bridges, as well as a separate covered pool and a paddling pool for the children. The bar terrace overlooks the pool area, providing an excellent spot to relax with a cool drink, and is the venue for the evening entertainment that takes place regularly throughout the season. There is a pizzeria on site, but no shop or restaurant, however there is a supermarket and a choice of bars and restaurants just a short walk away.
