Within 1/2 a mile of a sandy beach Cote de Nacre is a site with plenty to do including a tropical pool complex with swimming pool, water slides and chutes. There is a covered pool which is heated and a childrens splash pool. For those looking to relax there is a sauna and Hammam, There is a playground for smaller children and organised activities for children aged 7-10 years from mid July to August. For older children there is table tennis and table football as well as outdoor fun including a synthetic outdoor ice rink, multi sport pitch for football, basketball, volleyball and tennis. There is a bar, restaurant, takeaway on site. There is evening entertainment from mid July to August including weekly disco, live music, quizzes and karaoke.

Whilst there is plenty to do at this well-maintained campsite, the Les Landes forest is perfect for cyclists. Campsite rules are strictly enforced for the benefit and comfort of all guests. The facilities on this park are second to none, especially the superb aquatic area with its three pools, lazy river and triple waterslide. About 900m away, you can learn to surf and body board in the spectacular Atlantic waves. There are dozens of activities for kids of all ages, as well as entertainment, cantered around the bar-restaurant every night in high season, with the promise that all will be quiet after midnight. And the park owner is keen for all rules to be respected for the benefit and comfort of all guests. Beyond the park, Labenne offers endless forest roads and cycle paths; while the town itself has a splendid outdoor market, two petting zoos, as well as the lovely Marais d'Orx nature park.

A rocky headland, carefully transformed into a patchwork of bright blue pools, lush green parkland and red-roofed holiday homes, that's Cap Esterel. Dramatic hills sweep down to a succession of emerald waters and sandy coves. Les Sablons is a pleasant, good quality park with an excellent range of facilities that include a friendly bar and restaurant, as well as a pool complex with swimming and children's pools, and great waterslides. Most amenities are open in early season, but the park only becomes really lively during high season, when discos are held both indoors and out in the warm night air. Yet it's the splendid beach that you're sure to love most. With direct access from the park, its huge expanse of gently-shelving sand is a splendid place to relax. But if you can bear to tear yourselves away, you will find delightful resorts such as Cap d'Agde and Valras-Plage, which are both within easy reach.

Esterel at St Raphael, Cote d'Azur

Esterel is the place for sun and fun with an outdoor pool complex and indoor kids play pool to keep the young ones out of the heat of the sun. The children's club caters for 4-12 years during July and August and toddlers have their own playground. Older children can enjoy squash, archery and even use the skateboard park (protective clothing and pads must be worn). Fitness classes; aqua aerobics; bike hire, horse riding and various sports tournaments means there is never a dull moment while you are on holiday.
